Who can tell the paths you’ll tread
Oh you who sits awake in dread
Fear not the loom of tomorrow’s gloom
Twist the strands into a thread
Feed it into wisdom’s loom
From this fount you shall be fed
The glory of wisdom is that it is simple
That what pains have befallen us may one day uplift others
Look to the wide host of the people in the past
Look into their eyes, see them for who they are
Does it not fill you with wonder?
The steadfast eyes of determination
The steady eyes of fearlessness
We are their children and their inheritance
Parents inherit the joy of their children
In turn children inherit the teachings of their parents
This cycle of the young learning from the old
And the old learning from the young continues always and forever
For as long as young minds listen to old words
And as long as old minds listen to young words
The world cannot but change.
Every person changes the world
Every person is unique
In time
In connection to others
In experience
In fears
In hopes
In dreams
The greatest power in the world is to reject power
The greatest wealth in the world is to reject wealth
The greatest satisfaction in the world is to reject satisfaction
The greatest enemy in the world is to reject your enemy
It is not your power or wealth or satisfaction that makes you whole
Nor is it your triumphs over your enemies.
It is the listening to the voices that reach out to the divine
The songs of worship of the creator beyond our experience.
Not all can touch him.
Not all can hear his voice.
Not all can feel his sorrow.
The great God who dwells in unapproachable light.
When you have felt his sorrow you will see that the world is not lost.
When you have seen his wisdom you will see that no one is beyond learning.
When you have dwelt by him you will see that there is no sweeter companion than his spirit.
Our enemies are our most valuable asset.
They are the ones that teach us, who we are, and what is most important to us.
Land does not make us who we are.
Language does not make us who we are.
Culture does not make us who we are.
Science does not make us who we are.
As a star is infinitely more than the speck of light we see in the clear night skies,
So our consciousness is more than the short hours we spend awake and asleep.
Religion was fashioned to give people hope in a tomorrow that did not seem possible today.
It is the greatest gift that humanity has ever possessed.
From it we created philosophy.
From philosophy we created mathematics, logic, and reasoning.
From these we created systems, arts, and sciences.
From these we created new mathematics, new logics, and new reasonings.
Now we have forgotten religion.
Now we have forgotten philosophy.
We think it is like our systems, our arts, our sciences.
But it is not and it is so.
For all systems, all arts, and all sciences hold both philosophy and religion in their axioms.
Knowledge that allows you to move beyond yourself is religious.
It is your mystic art.
All the symbols and structures, are just to help your body understand what your mind already knows.
There is more than what the eye sees.
There is more than what the ear hears.
There is more than what the hand feels.
There is more than what the nose smells.
There is more than what the tongue tastes.
There is more to the air than what we breathe.
There is more to the ground than what we walk upon.
There is more to light than its source.
There is more to darkness than its source.
In your heart you can dance.
In your heart you can sing.
In your spirit you can remove the constriction of time.
Let yourself be human, allow your consciousness to thrive.
For the chances are few, and the need is great.
From dawn to dusk the world is more than its musk.
